Ok so a few years back at a RCM meetup (retro computer museum) me and a mate got talking to one of the other visitors. We both shit our pants when we found out the guy we were talking to was going for a full SEGA magazine collection!
Now ive spoken to many collectors over the years some with full games collections. Weve all seen the photos online and drolled over full SNES collections or collections including rare prototypes and variants, but magazines? Ive never seen that sort of dedication.
Fast forward a few years and after listing some Mega Drive goodies on ebay I was contacted by someone asking if I had any SEGA mags for sale. We messaged back and forth a little and it tured out to be the same chap as before. I was unable to help at the time but wished him the best of luck and admired his persistance.
Faster fast forward to this week. Id just listed a nice SEGA MD bundle on gumtree. It sold pretty quick, but after a day of being sold I get a message via Gumtree from....youve guessed it!
So ive been texting back and forth the last couple of days and really wanna help this avid collector out!
He has a whopping 670 different mags already and only needs a teeny tiny 23 issues to go for gold and get that holy grail full collection.
Were looking for anyone who can help. If youve got a stack of old games mags in the loft let us know. If youve got the odd random issue let us know. If youve got, well you get the idea.
The plan for the future with this collection isnt to have it collect dust in a "private museum" but instead to get these beautys scanned, uploaded and documented in one huge online data base. Theres plans to add a search function and catalouge everything! Some of the websites artwork is also being worked on by a very special ex SEGA Magazine employee.

Mega Machines ( not mean machines, this was a landscape printed magazine ) : 1,4
