Japanese Gran Turismo Posters Galore! (Reviving a long dead blog!)

Ok, so I know this may sound familiar but I really do want to get this blog back up and running!

I say this time and time again, but honestly, im really going to try this time!

With the RetroCollect Video Game Market 2 coming up soon, Iv'e been sorting a ton of stuff to take with me for sale on my store. I recently got these sweet import posters in and, although there's no easy way for me to display them at the market, I thought it would be cool to post some pics online here A. to show off the stuff online B. Really to try and get me back into blogging a bit more!

MEGA MEGADRIVE (& Other SEGA Mags!) MAGAZINE QUEST!

Ok so a few years back at a RCM meetup (retro computer museum) me and a mate got talking to one of the other visitors. We both shit our pants when we found out the guy we were talking to was going for a full SEGA magazine collection!
Now ive spoken to many collectors over the years some with full games collections. Weve all seen the photos online and drolled over full SNES collections or collections including rare prototypes and variants, but magazines? Ive never seen that sort of dedication.

Final fantasy 7 - worlds apart.

Final Fantasy 7 has been somewhat of an obsession for me. Ever since I first played the game back in '98 I've been in love with it.

As child at primary school I would fake being ill just to stay home and "recover" while playing it.

One thing ive always loved is the artwork. From the cover artwork to the cgi fmv scenes, ive loved every bit.

A few years back I bought an art book by Yositaka Amano titled Dawn.

For anyone who doesnt know Amano is the concept artist for alot of the FF games.

After looking through the book over and over I was inspired by some of his black and white work and decided to do som3 of my own FF drawings, just for shits and giggles (shiggles). This was last year, overall I was happy with the results.

Fast forward to this year and im visiting my mum. My mums moving to France this year and so shes clearing out the loft etc. I came over and was clearing out some of my old stuff and stumbled upon a primary school artbook.

Inside this "insult to paper" was a terrible terrible drawing of Cloud. The date was '99 which puts me around 8 years old.

The drawing is horrific. In the background a faint Umbro logo can be seen thats been semi rubbed out. I used to draw slot of NFFC pictures too it appears.

However despite how crap it is, it made me smile.

Seeing how through all thise years, '99-2012, im still loving, & still drawing the same stuff.
